Despite a formal education and an established career in finance and accounting, Abdullahi struggled to keep up with the rapidly evolving technology required to remain relevant in the industry. With the goal of bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital innovation, he joined the Kiron Campus to strengthen his professional expertise and expand his portfolio.
Between his professional duties in banking and his self-study hours, Abdullahi committed to mastering advanced financial concepts, including risk modeling and data analysis tools that go beyond historical analysis to predict future performance. Through Kiron, he learned these techniques not just to analyze data, but to forecast future business performance. He also enhanced his ability to interpret complex financial statements, enabling him to better assess clients' creditworthiness.
“The most beneficial aspect was applying advanced financial modeling techniques to my existing accounting background,” he shares. “This allowed me to transition from recording past transactions to predicting future business performance, directly enhancing my value in the banking sector.” Abdullahi's dedication paid off. After completing several advanced courses through Kiron, he secured a new role as a Credit Officer.
For Anas, a Palestinian refugee living in Syria, learning with Kiron is about more than just the high-quality education. “It represents opportunity, resilience, and the idea that education should remain accessible even during uncertain times,” he says. With a bachelor's degree in computer engineering and a wealth of experience in IT and cybersecurity, he was already working in IT management when he came across Kiron. However, “like many professionals from conflict-affected regions,” he says, “continuing my education was challenging due to financial constraints and access barriers.”
Kiron played a key role in supporting Anas to access the further education necessary to upskill in his career. Through the Kiron Campus, he developed advanced knowledge in project planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and agile methodologies. More importantly, the training helped him enhance the efficiency and clarity of the IT projects he manages.
“Kiron helped me access courses from leading universities and companies that would otherwise have been difficult to obtain,” he says. “The most beneficial aspect of learning with Kiron was the opportunity to access high-quality professional education despite the limitations I face as a refugee.” Through gaining professional certifications, he also boosted his confidence in working with international clients and organizations.
“What encouraged me to continue learning was the realization that these courses were not only theoretical but also practical and directly applicable to my work," shares Anas. “The skills I gained are extremely valuable in my current role, where managing technology projects requires both technical expertise and strong organizational abilities.”
