Berlin, Germany - Kiron, a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering accessible education to refugees and underserved communities globally, is pleased to announce the appointment of Wenke Christoph as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 17, 2024.

Wenke Christoph comes to Kiron with a wealth of experience in migration, integration and public-civic cooperation. Wenke has previously held several leadership roles, including guiding Berlin’s response to the refugee movement from Ukraine while serving as State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Labour, and Social Affairs. Her commitment to integration, education and social impact will be instrumental in leading Kiron’s mission to offer quality education and support people with a forced migration background in entering the job market.

"We are delighted to welcome Wenke Christoph to the Kiron team," said Markus Kressler, Co-Founder of Kiron. "Her proven leadership skills and deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals who have experienced displacement in accessing continuing education and earning decent livelihoods will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach and impact."

Kiron has been at the forefront of offering accessible educational solutions since 2015. Through its digital platform, Kiron Campus and expertly designed blended learning programs, the organization has supported over 100,000 learners worldwide, providing them with skills essential for the labour market and fostering academic, professional, and personal growth.

"I am honoured to join the exceptional team at Kiron and build on its incredible work in providing educational opportunities to refugees and underserved communities," said Wenke Christoph. "I look forward to advancing Kiron's mission and operations by introducing new strategic initiatives and partnerships and intensifying Kiron’s social business approach. I am convinced that creating new pathways into education and employment for refugees and migrants is of crucial importance not only for our students, but also for our societies. "

Wenke Christoph succeeds Tobias Ernst, who led Kiron for six years. Together with Anne Parsons as Chief Partnerships Officer, and Hannes Rudzik as Chief Programs Officer in the senior leadership, Wenke Christoph will be leading the next phase of growth for Kiron. Kiron extends its deepest gratitude to its donors, partners, supporters, and learners for their continued trust and belief in our mission.
