What does empowerment mean to you?

Becoming stronger and more confident, reaching my goals, continuous learning, ending injustice to women in the world, being productive, and finding opportunities and seizing them.

Do you have a role model who inspires you and why?

Well, not really, though I am one of the biggest admirers of Nikola Tesla. But what really does inspire me is the quotation, “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” This phrase is the only one that has kept me fully sane under the severe psychological pressures in my life.

What does Kiron mean to you?

With Kiron, I don’t have to travel abroad to get an education from the best universities in the world. I’m Syrian and my passport does not allow me to travel. With Kiron, I enjoy the flexibility of learning online at any time anywhere I like. I also love the huge amount of support during my studies at Kiron. I have to say that I was surprised by the quality and quantity of choices and opportunities created by Kiron.

What do you want to achieve with Kiron/what are your learning goals?

I would love to improve my English language skills as well as gain a lot of knowledge, so I can be a professor at university someday.

What challenges are you facing?

Finding a job in Germany is a nightmare. It is very difficult finding work commensurate with your abilities and your qualifications in Germany. With Kiron, the challenges are to be patient, to learn how to keep my calendar organized, and also to combine my personal life with my studies at Kiron.

What are your plans for the future?

The most important thing for me now is to be productive and to find a job so that I can stay in Germany. I plan for the long term, and I dream someday to be a professor at a university.
