Our flagship digital upskilling program, designed for women and non-binary individuals with refugee or migration experience in Germany, unlocks exceptional talent and improves inclusivity in the tech industry – offering partners a meaningful way to make a difference.
Women with (forced) migration experience remain underrepresented in the workforce, despite being highly educated and motivated. 80% of THRIVE participants hold a degree and 60% are actively looking for work in the tech industry, demonstrating their untapped potential.

The challenge
Facing complex hurdles
Women with migration and refugee backgrounds face overlapping challenges in accessing the German labor market. Despite their resilience and qualifications, only 29% refugee and migrant women find employment after seven years, compared to 75% of men. In the tech sector, the gender gap is wider still – only 17% of employees at German startups are women.
THRIVE participants are motivated to overcome the barriers they face. With their determination and ambition – and the support of our partners, they gain the tools and networks to kickstart their careers. For the last edition of THRIVE, 250 women from more than 45 countries were selected out of over 1,500 applications.
